Varsity Athletics

Rice has been a member of Conference USA since July 2005. Prior to that, the university spent nine years in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and was a charter member, from 1914 to 1996, of the famed Southwest Conference.

Rice fields men's teams in football, baseball, basketball, cross-country, track and field, golf and tennis and women's teams in basketball, cross-country, track and field, tennis, soccer, swimming and volleyball.
