President Leebron hosted two open forums for Rice staff that drew nearly 320 participants. He also visited with staff in smaller settings and through programs sponsored by Human Resources. To assure accessibility to the document by as wide a range of staff as possible' the Call to Conversation was translated into Spanish and broadly distributed early in the process.

As the endorsement from the Staff Advisory Committee states' "staff members recognize that Rice is at a turning point and want to participate in and further the discussion about the university's future' whether they are departmental or college coordinators' library and IT staff' custodians' or research staff. The process of soliciting input from the staff has been open and inviting; staff members feel that their voices have been heard and that they have a stake in the decision-making process."
