Rice University presents its financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles as established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board for not-for-profit organizations. Under these standards, resources are grouped by net asset category based on the existence or absence of donor-imposed restrictions. The audited financial statements of the university include the Statement of Financial Position as of June 30, 2007; the Statement of Activities and Statement of Cash Flows for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2007; and accompanying notes.

The endowment market value was $4.67 billion as of June 30, 2007; compared with $4.0 billion on June 30, 2006, and $3.6 billion on June 30, 2005.
